It has already been 6 years since Ms. Ia Buchaidze has been receiving many local and foreign guests in Tusheti and she has great hopes that she will host even more as soon as the current situation allows it. Ia is a Germanist by profession and successfully runs Tusheti Bakery - a bakery and open-air café where guests can enjoy a variety of masterclasses as well as local cuisine. In addition to her daily hard work to keep each customer satisfied, Ia manages to constantly think about the further development of her business. Ms. Ia takes care to be fully equipped technically, to improve her infrastructure, which as you can imagine, is associated with large financial expenses, especially in high mountainous regions. Many in her place would believe in what she had achieved, after winning several grant competitions, she would happily work in her well-equipped bakery and continue to serve the most delicious Georgian "doli" bread to her guests. But Ms. Ia has even bigger plans. She plans to arrange a multifunctional space in a traditional Tushetian building, where she will introduce Tushetian customs and shepherding culture along with local dishes. She knows well that to achieve this great goal requires planning and calculating each step. That is why she joined BPN Georgia in a business planning course and worked with great diligence on her own business development plan. This helped her to understand every detail of her business, to discover weaknesses and recognize strengths, and write write down next strategic steps. Although it was not easy at first, she managed to plan her finances, and despite the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, do some product calculations.
Success was not long in coming: Ms. Ia became the winner of another grant competition and added new equipment to her bakery.
