What marketing tools are available for businesses in the tourism sector, when you don’t have any guests, when the budget is scarce, and you want to use your free time efficiently?
Use the time to make your potential visitors want to plan future trips with you, spend the night with you, visit you through your website, Facebook and Instagram platforms.

1. Awake sweet memories: Ask your fans, followers on different social networks about their memories. Ask them to share photos, videos from the past years. You also shared photo-video material reflecting the beautiful moments of the past.

2. Travel in mind: Your potential visitors want to focus on other enjoyable topics in addition to receive important information through your posts. It is desirable to be their source of inspiration for the future perspective.
Allow them to sit comfortably on their couch, view and learn about tourist attractions, your hotel rooms, your tours, your other offers through photos, videos, other descriptions.
Do not forget to always ask yourself: What does your target group want to know about your offer? For example, if you want to give a voice to hikers with your offer, it is advisable to go hiking yourself and share your impressions with them: where and what can be found, where is the best view, which trails are suitable for experienced mountain hikers.

3. Let's go behind the scenes: Most of the guests have never seen the hotel from behind the scenes. Now is exactly the best time to do it. Introduce the kitchen, wine cellar, hotel hostess and add some interesting facts: “Did you know that we wash more than 500 towels every day, we store 85 exclusive wines in our cellar, […]?

You can also introduce your employees to your customers, for example through an interview where they tell us about their professional experience, special opportunities or hobbies.

4. Delicacy: Delicious food and good drinks never go out of fashion. Introduce guests to the special dishes of your kitchen. Maybe you have a new menu that you want to present to your (potential) guests, or maybe you are ready to reveal to your regular guests the recipe of their favorite and distinctive dish? Maybe you have new dishes on offer that you can take with you?

5. Crisis are a productive ground for rumors: Confront this and provide information to your customers about the epidemic situation and related measures you have taken. Tell them how you care about the safety of your guests. So, you will be recognized as a trusted and competent host.

What will happen after we all beat Covid 19 together?
No one has an answer to this question today, but one thing we can say: the desire to travel after the crisis will be even greater. Your (potential) customers will not forget how you communicated with them during the crisis, and that is what determines whether or not you will be included to their travel plan.
Use this time as a chance to prepare for a post-crisis situation.
