Nino Gharibashvili has been working as an English language specialist for years, but only last year, in 2018, did she decide to turn her profession into a business. As she recalls, the idea had been swirling in her head for years, but the final push came from a training course at BPN Georgia – the business plan. At the event, the PhD candidate in linguistics, an experienced lecturer and tutor realized that she already had everything she needed to open a language learning center and that it was time to act.
Today, Nino heads the Innovative Language Academy of Gori. A year after the decision was made, her training center already has several employees and several dozen students. Also, the summer camp project was successfully implemented and the first branch is opening in the city of Kaspi. All this without capital investment in one year is truly impressive. Especially in a market such as English language teaching. English is the most sought-after foreign language, every city is saturated with offers, as well as the online space, but the Innovative Language Academy successfully manages to establish a place and focuses on intensive growth. The main group of users is students of secondary schools in the city of Gori, however, in parallel with general courses, the academy also offers specific programs, including preparation for IELTS and TOEFL exams, industry-specific English for the HoReCa sector, as well as intensive and extended business English courses. The training center is periodically visited by invited lecturers, for whom English is their native language. They share their experience with students in the format of a Sunday school. Teleconferences are also organized, within the framework of which online communication with English training centers located in other countries takes place. The learning process is carried out dynamically using internationally recognized innovative methodology. The flow of people wishing to learn English at ILA never stops.
What is the secret of Nino's success? High level of professionalism. It's as if she was born to be an English teacher and has the ability to explain every word, every grammatical rule in her blood. She loves her profession and does her job with pleasure, which is why she feels comfortable with both a student and an employee.
Nino is constantly focused on growth, and for 2020 she has no less ambitious goals: obtaining a scientific degree, granting international status to the summer school, and offering another European language course to the user.
