What are THREADS and how to manage them?

More and more people are signing up for Threads every day. The app was launched in July 2023 by Meta as a competitor to Twitter. The app was launched in over a hundred countries at the same time and over 50 million users registered in record time.

Meta says Threads provides “a new, separate space for real-time updates and public conversations. It comes at a time when many people are looking for an alternative to Twitter after the platform was acquired by Elon Musk last year. However, Meta’s new app has raised concerns about data privacy, which is why it is not yet available in EU countries.”

How do we sign up for Threads and how do we use it?

The Threads app is a microblogging app available for both iOS and Android users. In this app, users can post or share multimedia, including text, images, and videos. Threads also allows users to like, reply, or share other people's posts. An Instagram account is required to log in to the app, as it was created by the Instagram team. Instagram users can easily switch to Threads from the same account. Although your name and verification status will be transferred to Threads unchanged, you can also change these data fields as desired. This includes whether or not to follow the same people you have on Instagram. As for deactivating the app, according to Threads' additional privacy policy, you can delete your account at any time, but this will only be possible by deleting your Instagram account.

Initially, the app was only available for mobile users. Recently, Threads also launched on desktop, meaning users can share posts from their computers. On Threads, you can:
• Posting posts of 500 characters;
• Upload 10 photos in one post;
• Publish 5-minute video content;

The latest news, which is known at the moment, is related to hashtags. Threads users can only tag one topic in a post to avoid tag spam. And all this is possible without the # symbol. Unlike hashtags, users can use omissions in a specific phrase along with other special features. By clicking on a tag marked on a post, you can get acquainted with similar topics that will be written with the same hashtag. To do this, simply enter the tag in the search field.
